As part of its All In Giving program, BankNewport will collect essential hygiene items to give to those in need through its partnership with Amenity Aid.

From September 16 through September 28, BankNewport customers and the public can donate new, unopened full-size and travel-size shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant at any of their 19 locations in Rhode Island. These items will then be distributed to vulnerable Rhode Islanders in need via a network of partner agencies.

“BankNewport has long been committed to creating a positive impact in the communities we serve, and through our ‘Kind Heart’ campaigns, we’re able to engage Bank customers and employees in a special way to help those in need,” said Jack Murphy, President & CEO, BankNewport.  “We’re looking forward to another successful collection drive to support the important work of Amenity Aid to ensure essential hygiene products are provided to those who need them most.”

Since it began in 2016, BankNewport has donated thousands of items to organizations that support underserved populations in Rhode Island.

“We are grateful to have the support of local organizations like BankNewport, who understand the need to end hygiene insecurity in Rhode Island,” said Mary Abraham Karalis, Development & Communications Manager at Amenity Aid. “We believe that hygiene is essential, not optional. Having the support of our community means Rhode Islanders can shower with soap and brush their teeth with toothbrushes and toothpaste. It is a great, unmet need that we are proud to fill.”
