The Newport Gulls secured their 8th Fay Vincent Sr. Cup on Saturday with an 8-7 win over the Sanford Mainers in game 3 of the Championship Series.
A back-and-forth game found the Gulls down one in the bottom of the ninth. Tyler Hare (Wofford College) would hit his second home-run of the day to tie the game up.
In extra innings, the Gulls got two on in the bottom of the tenth for Dixon Williams (ECU) who ripped a single back up the middle scoring Niko Brini!
The Gulls are back-to-back NECBL Champs!
