SANFORD, ME. — Shortly after the Newport Gulls scored five runs in the 5th inning to take a 7-0 lead over the Sanford Mainers, Game 2 of the Championship Series went in to a weather delay due to rain.
After waiting for about an hour, the decision was made to suspend Thursday night’s game. With rain in the forecast tomorrow, Game 2 will resume on Saturday in Newport at a time to be determined. If the Gulls hold on to win the conclusion of Thursday’s suspended contest, Game 3 will take place at Cardines Field immediately after.

Here are the game times for tomorrow Saturday, August 10th! Game 2 will start at 4:00 PM at Cardines Field. The Gulls are leading 7-0 in the bottom of the 5th. If necessary, Game 3 will begin at 6:35 PM. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+. Let’s pack Cardines Field!
