Newport Polo today announced that they will welcome the arrival of the Dominican Polo Team in a Pony Parade on America’s Cup Avenue from 6-6:30 pm on Friday, June 14, 2024, on the Newport Harborfront.
The column of 8 polo ponies will be led by the Dominican Polo Team, with returning captain Mauricio Bogaert and teammates Juan Thomas Diaz, Alexander Schad and Alex Schad Jr., along with their rivals, the USA Polo Team, who will face off on Saturday, June 15 at 5 pm in the Newport International Polo Series Presented by Turkish Airlines.
The parade of horses and riders will make their way along America’s Cup Boulevard, from Newport’s Gateway Center to Bannister’s Wharf, ending at Clarke Cooke House where the teams will Meet & Greet supporters who are warmly invited to welcome the players with a cocktail reception inside the venerable establishment at its Midway bar from 7:00-8:30 pm by RSVP at https://bit.ly/3yYuTiC. This event marks the 2nd in a series of unique Meet & Greet opportunities on the eve of the 8 international matches in the 2024 schedule this season with teams from around the world.

The polo match on June 15 will be the 3rd in the Polo Series’ 18 matches this season. Last week in the Bentley vs. Rolls-Royce Classic, Bentley avenged its loss of a year ago, to hoist the coveted mega-trophy.
