The Portsmouth Historical Society Museum, Old Town Hall, and Southermost School are gearing up for the 2024 season, opening on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 2-4 p.m.
Docents, Board Members, and Town Historian Jim Garman will be on hand to guide visitors through the buildings and answer questions. The second floor of the museum will also be home to quilts from the Historical Society’s collection, including a Bicentennial Presentation Quilt.
On June 23, Gloria and Rick Schmidt will be on hand to discuss the Monument dedicated to the first skirmish of the Battle of Rhode Island. Visitors are welcome to stop by to learn about the dedication ceremony and view maps of the battle.
