Breakfast at Tiffany's

The Jane Pickens Theater & Event Center (The JPT) is celebrating Valentine’s Day by showing a trio of romantic films, The Navigator, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and The Taste of Things, starting this Saturday.

“There is no better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than going to see a movie that is sure to put you in the Valentine’s Day spirit. The JPT remains focused on bringing movies to our theater that create a fun and exciting experience for all our guests to enjoy. Whether you are looking for the perfect date night experience or a romance movie lover, this trio of romantic movies will not disappoint,” said Alex Whitney, General Manager at The JPT.

The Navigator (Saturday, February 10, 4:30 PM) – The JPT is kicking off its 2024 Silent Film Series with The Navigator featuring early cinema’s biggest star, Buster Keaton. Celebrating its 100th birthday, The Navigator was Keaton’s most successful film. It’s a highly influential romantic comedy, a story of hopeless love between rich and poor that still yields many laughs today. The Navigator screening at The JPT will have a live musical score performed on synth-piano by The JPT favorite Jeff Rapsis. The Navigator is the perfect light fare for cinephiles and romantics on Valentine’s Day weekend. Breakfast at Tiffany’s (Tuesday, February 13, 7:30 PM) – The Academy award-winning Breakfast at Tiffany’s is back at The JPT as a Valentine’s treat. Based on Truman Capote’s novel Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a young woman in New York City meets a young man when he moves into her apartment building. He is with an older woman who is very wealthy, but he wants to be a writer. She is an expensive escort and is searching for a rich, older man to marry. More information on Breakfast at Tiffany’s and tickets here.

The Taste of Things (Wednesday, February 14- Wednesday, February 21) – Opening on Valentine’s Day, The Taste of Things, a critically acclaimed romance, will be at The JPT for a week run. The Taste of Things shares the story of renowned cook Eugenie and her famous restaurateur-boss Dodin, who grew fond of one another over 20 years. Their shared love of food has created unique, delicious, and exquisite dishes that are second to none, attracting diners and illustrious critics worldwide. Despite their successful professional and romantic relationship, freedom-loving Eugenie never wanted to marry Dodin. When Dodin faces Eugenie’s reluctance to commit, he cooks for his beloved for the first time. More information on The Taste of Things and tickets is here.
