The Newport Public Education Foundation, Inc. (NPEF) has awarded over $25,000 in teacher and community enrichment grants to Newport Public School teachers and local organizations.

Grant amounts ranged from $250 – $2,500.00 and spanned all grade levels and curriculum areas. Thirty (30) awards were made, 6 to the elementary school, 12 to the middle school and 11 to the high school and one to a community organization, who’s art program involves students from the elementary and middle schools.

Requests for over $35,780.00 in grants were received, however budget constraints limited awards to $25,000.00.  NPEF acknowledges Nancy & Doug Horsey, who donated $5,000.00 to adopt five secondary science grants.
