Two seaside dining staples are signaling the official arrival of summer on Aquidneck Island this week.

Flo’s Clam Shack on Wave Avenue in Middletown has expanded to daily hours starting Thursday, May 14, after opening for the season in March on a Thursday-through-Sunday schedule. The clam shack, famous for clams since 1936, sits across from Easton’s Beach at 4 Wave Ave.

“The season is officially here,” Flo’s announced. “Join us daily for your Flo’s favorites.”

Just across the street, Easton’s Beach Concessions reopens for its third year on Friday, May 15, serving fresh food daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The seasonal eatery is operated by Heritage Restaurant Group.

The concessions menu features the operation’s twin lobster rolls as a beach staple, along with grill items, rolls, salads, sweet treats, sides, snacks, beverages and daily specials. This year’s lineup also includes local favorites from some of Newport’s restaurants, according to the operator.

“Whether you’re soaking up the sun on the sand, unwinding after a scenic stroll along the Cliff Walk, or just looking for a laid-back spot to grab dinner with an ocean view — Easton’s Beach Concessions has something for everyone,” Heritage Restaurant Group said in announcing the opening.
