The following are upcoming programs and events that adults can enjoy at the Tiverton Public Library in December.
Monday, December 2nd, 6:30-7:30pm
Living Literature Presents “A Holiday Sampler”
This readers’ theater-style presentation is a celebration of stories, poems, and essays that reflect the spirit and practice of Christmas. This off-beat, lighthearted look at the most indelible of holidays includes such authors as Ogden Nash, Grace Paley, A. A. Milne, Mary Oliver, Pearl S. Buck, and Leo Tolstoy, among others. It will be performed by husband and wife team, Anne Scurria and Living Literature Artistic Director, Barry Press. This program is free and open to the public and is best appreciated by an adult audience, but children are welcome.

Quilt Club
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, you are welcome to come and work on your own projects while socializing with fellow enthusiasts. Get project ideas, ask questions, and share tips and advice. Must bring your own projects and supplies.

CreaTiv Crafts
Join us on the first Thursday of every month for some fun and creativity. This month, we will learn how to make candles in a crockpot! All materials are provided. Please register to reserve your spot.

Holiday Matinee: It’s a Wonderful Life
Escape the hustle and bustle of the season with a free showing of It’s a Wonderful Life on the big screen! Popcorn and drinks are provided; outside snacks are also welcome.

Cookbook Club Cookie Swap and Cookbook Exchange

Adult Knitting Meet-Up
A casual meeting for knitters looking to work on their projects with others who enjoy knitting and crocheting. Join us on the Third Tuesday of the month to meet and socialize with local knitters. Must bring your own projects and supplies.
Thursday, December 19th, 4:00-6:00pm
Painting Landscapes
In this 2-hour session, local artist John Irwin will take you step by step through the process of starting a landscape painting and deciding when it is finished. All materials will be supplied. Registration opens on December 12th at 4:00pm. No exceptions. You can register in person, online at tivertonlibrary.org, or by calling 401-625-6796 after 4:00pm on December 12th.
