Innovate Newport in collaboration with Newport Community Yoga and TowerHill Associates announced today the start of free yoga classes.

The sessions will be hosted December 4th, 11th and 18th from 10-11am. Seasoned yoga instructor Emily Moyer will direct the classes, she will offer variations to ensure the class is useful no matter your experience level. Thanks to the generosity of TowerHill Associates, these classes will be FREE to all, however registration is required here.

Wake up your body and refuel your mind in this dynamic all levels class that focuses on mind, body, and breath connection,” a press release from Innovate Newport states. “We will flow through breath-centric asana sequences that target core strength, balance, and flexibility. No experience required, the instructor will offer modifications and variations to make this class accessible to all levels”.

The press release continues, “If you don’t believe yoga can be used to increase productivity in the workplace, you’d be mistaken. Incorporating yoga into your daily routine decreases the effects of fatigue on your mind and body. Working non-stop causes stress, while sitting down for five plus hours can have adverse effects on your health. Quick breaks at work to exercise yoga positions is believed to combat these ailments. Practicing yoga also increases creativity and concentration. You will be amazed how productive you will be returning to work after a session.
