2019 Miss Rhode Island, Molly Andrade will be the guest of honor at the first ever “On The Rhode to Miss America” event on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 7pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Valley Road in Middletown.
Molly Andrade, a Middletown RI native and 20 year old Junior at Endicott College, is currently serving as Miss Rhode Island 2019. The “On the Rhode to Miss America” event was created to help defray costs related to her year reign as Miss Rhode Island and to competing on the national stage for the coveted designation as Miss America.
The Miss Rhode Island Scholarship Competition is an official preliminary for the Miss America Competition. The Miss America program exists to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women to promote their voices in culture, politics and the community. It provides a forum for today’s young women to express their viewpoints, talents and accomplishments to audiences during the telecast and to the public-at-large during the ensuing year. Almost all candidates have either received, or are in the process of earning either college or postgraduate degrees, and utilize Miss Rhode Island and Miss America scholarship grants to further their educations.
To that end a number of expenses are incurred by the candidate personally to prepare her for the road ahead to the national competition. These expenses could reach as high as $10,000. We hope you will join us to support the efforts of this fine young woman who hopes to combat sexual assault by implementing evidence-based self defense programming in schools and communities throughout Rhode Island. Help us to help to make this dream come true.
Tickets for this event are $35 per person which includes, food, live music, cash bar and a fast paced paddle-raise event.
Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.com. Search “On The Rhode to Miss America”.
