Cochon555 announces Chefs for Heritage Fire Newport

America’s cult outdoor culinary festival, Heritage Fire by Cochon555, returns to Newport, RI at Gurney’s Newport Resort & Marina on August 24, 2019 with an all-star cast of chefs who will take guests on a journey of whole animal cookery over live-fire grills. The list of heritage and heirloom foods includes dry-aged beef, whole pigs, and lamb, alongside responsibly-raised fish, squab, rabbit, duck, chicken and locally grown heirloom vegetables.

Heritage Fire Newport will showcase over 20 notable chefs each grilling heritage-breed animals en plein air, inspired by global food cultures, against the stunning backdrop of Newport Harbor. Every event is a fundraiser for Cochon555’s sister charity, Piggy Bank — a start-up farm in Missouri that serves as a kickstarter for new family farms and a safety net for those in the wake of a disaster (flood, fire and disease).

Events like Heritage Fire help foster relationships between local farms and emerging chefs who are committed to serving guests flavorful food from real farmers.
