The wrought iron fence in Washington Square is looking

As his Eagle Project, Troop 3 Newport Rhode Island Scout Michael Del Guercio organized volunteers to paint the historic fence surrounding Eisenhower Park on Saturday and Sunday.

More than forty volunteers took part in the project.

“The Eisenhower Park Fence Painting Project is the most recent example of Newporters’ excitement with the City’s visionary, in-process, newly hospitable town center,” said Howard Newman, member of The Historic Newport Town Spring Leadership Committee.
