Newport City Council hosted a Regular Council Meeting that last approximately one hour and forty minutes on Wednesday night.

A large group of student athletes from Rogers High School and parents filled City Council chambers to ask for/show support for City Council to do what they can in the upcoming budget to help fix their playing fields.

The future of the Florence Gray Center, and a loan to Innovation Newport were some of the other agenda items that took up the most time tonight.
