Tell Newport’s second annual year-end showcase “The Worst,” will feature diverse tales of hard lessons and tough times when it lands at the Jane Pickens Theater on June 6th.
Five storytellers from across the community will come together to tell ten-minute true personal stories, the kind of experiences you might tell a friend at the bar, or over a long cup of coffee.
Speakers:
Regina Bartlett
Zach McKelvey
Tyson Bottenus
Mother Anita Louise Schell
Christopher Johnson
Intimate authenticity is Tell Newport‘s aim which started in April 2017 as a way to share stories from a cross-section of the community. On the first Thursday of every month throughout the year, they gather at The Firehouse Theatre for ten-minute, true personal tales. Each month’s show is based on a new theme that our storytellers often interpret in surprising ways.
There are no props, no aides, just the speaker’s voice and what happened. It is a celebration of one of the oldest forms of entertainment and communication, storytelling.
The event will take place from 7 pm to 9:30 pm on Thursday, June 6th at Jane Pickens Theater. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased here.
