The City of Newport has announced that the Department of Utilities, Water Pollution Control Division (WPC) will be conducting inspection and maintenance work on the Rail Road sanitary sewer interceptor beginning Tuesday, February 12th.
The interceptor is located within the railroad ROW between Van Zandt Avenue and Bridge Street. The work is anticipated to be completed on Wednesday, February 13th, weather permitting.
The work will be conducted between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm.
