Newport Indoor Golf has recently opened its doors in a 5,000 sq. ft. facility located adjacent to the Newport Car Museum in Portsmouth.

The new indoor virtual golf facility gives new and seasoned golfers the ability to play the game year-round, regardless of the weather.  Four Trackman Golf Simulators allow golfers to practice on a virtual driving range or tee off on courses from around the world. Fully customized bays feature high-definition projection screens with living room seating and amenities. A custom contour putting green is also available.

“Our mission at Newport Indoor Golf is to offer a world-class facility for golfers to play, practice, and develop their games,” said Newport Indoor Golf Founder Max Buerman in a prepared statement. “We believe that everyone can improve from our facility through our top-of-the-line technology, PGA professional instruction, and premium features”.

Newport Indoor Golf is PGA accredited and has two PGA professionals on staff. Private lessons and clinics are available on request and lesson plans are available for all ages and abilities.

“We plan on offering mini-clinics, junior clinics, speaker series, and professional teaching seminars,” added Buerman in the statement. “Memberships and League Play will be introduced shortly, with multiple options available, including private leagues for corporations and groups.”

While Newport Indoor Golf allows walk-ins to play right away if bays are available, Buerman encourages everyone to book tee times in advance through its website or by calling the Pro Shop (401-847-1947). Tee times can be requested up to 30 days in advance and bays can currently be $50 an hour, regardless of how many golfers (maximum of 8) are in the group.

Golfers may bring their own clubs; however, Newport Indoor Golf also has high quality rental clubs available including PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf) and other notable brands that have made partnerships with the facility. Custom club fittings with PXG, Mizuno, Cobra, and Titleist are available. Club repair services such as regripping, shaft repair, and loft and lie adjustment are also available.

“As a year-round weatherproof facility for golfing enthusiasts, we’re particularly excited about breaking the off-season cycle of New England golf,” said Buerman, adding that at Newport Indoor Golf, golfing in the winter doesn’t need to include down jackets, hats and gloves; one can play the Old Course at St. Andrews or PGA National in a tee shirt and shorts. “Above all, we are in the business of fun,” said Buerman in a prepared statement. “We want all golfers, including junior golfers, who play at Newport Indoor Golf to leave with big smiles on their faces!”

Newport Indoor Golf is open to the public Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sundays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
