Newport, RI – Dawn Euer issued the following statement in response to the general election results in State Senate District 13:

“I want to thank the voters of Jamestown and Newport for believing in our campaign and our vision for the district; but most importantly I want to thank them for re-electing me to State Senate,” Euer said.
“Since I was elected to the State Senate in last year’s special election, I have worked to create positive change for the residents of Newport and Jamestown. I have pushed to improve access to home care so that seniors can age in place with dignity. I passed legislation to streamline regulations for food truck operators. And I have worked to minimize the impact of construction on local businesses.
“I am proud of the work we have accomplished, but there is so much more to be done. We need to do more to make our government accountable and accessible to the communities we serve. We need to do more to support the development of renewable energy and improve the resiliency of our neighborhoods in the face of the ever-worsening impacts of climate change. And we need to do more to grow our economy so that it works for all of us.
“I and honored and humbled by the grassroots energy and support our campaign received and I am looking forward to getting back to work for our community at the State House.”
