Ryan Belmore sat in and hosted The Open Forum (12 pm to 1 pm) and What’sUpNewp Radio Edition (1 pm to 2 pm) on AM 1540 WADK Newport on Tuesday, May 22nd.

From about 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm; Evan Smith, CEO & President of Discover Newport, and Brad Read, Executive Director of Sail Newport, joined Ryan to recap the 2018 Volvo Ocean Race Newport Stopover. Hear all about the Stopover, what has to happen for it to come back, and more about the 12 day event that took over The-City-By-The-Sea.

Jill Davidson, Festival Director for Newport Festivals Foundation, joined Ryan at 1:30 pm to discuss the 2018 Newport Bridgefest, their call for artists, and more.

Belmore visits Newport every couple of weeks to support the 12+ paid contributors What'sUpNewp has on the ground across Rhode Island, a place he called home for 39 years.

Belmore is a member of Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers, Society of Professional Journalists, and the North American Snowsports Journalists Association.

In 2020, Belmore was named Member of the Year by LION and won the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County's Dominque Award.
