What’sUpNewp and AM 1540 WADK hosted a Senate District 13 Candidate Forum on Tuesday evening live on the air at AM 1540 WADK.

Republican candidate Mike Smith, Democratic candidate Dawn Euer and Independent candidate Kim Ripoli participated in the two hour forum that was moderated by Frank Prosnitz, news editor of What’sUpRhode Island and on-air radio host at AM 1540 WADK, and Ryan Belmore, Owner & Editor of What’sUpNewp and What’sUpRhodeIsland.

The three candidates and Green Party candidate Gregory Larson (who did not reply to our invite to the Forum) will face off in a Special Election on Tuesday, August 22nd.

Ryan Belmore is the Publisher of What'sUpNewp.

Belmore is a member of Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers, Society of Professional Journalists, and the North American Snowsports Journalists Association.

In 2020, Belmore was named Member of the Year by LION and won the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County's Dominque Award.
