TEDxNewport

If you haven’t already heard, TEDxNewport is coming to the City-By-The-Sea in the Fall of 2016!

The theme for the inaugural event is “Tides of Change” and the organizing committee is still accepting applications/nominations for speakers up until this Friday, July 15.

If you have an idea worth spreading, or you know someone who does, event organizers encourage you to get in touch this week!

People interested in speaking do not have to submit a formal talk, just your contact info, your proposal or an outline of your idea, and a short bio about yourself (or the person you’re nominating). You can apply directly through www.tedxnewport.com.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxNewport, where x = independently organized TED event.

At the TEDxNewport event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including Newport’s, are self-organized.
