The Newport County Chamber of Commerce has announced a partnership with Blackstone Caterers as their Women in Business Catering Sponsor.

The Women in Business initiative was created to enrich and celebrate the talents and skills of women in business—those who manage people, those who are in a high-level individual contributor role or those who own their own business—through networking events focused on professional development and relationship building. The program was established by the Newport County Chamber to engage and empower women in business and to support women-owned businesses in Newport County and Rhode Island.

Blackstone Caterers are committed to making our neighborhoods stronger places to live and work. From gala events of 10,000 to intimate cocktail parties in your own home, Blackstone Caterers is renowned for its exquisite food, spectacular presentation, and unfailing service since 1945.

Recognized as the state’s Best Catering Company by RI Monthly and Best Caterer by Newport Life, Blackstone is privileged to be the perennial caterer of choice for Newport’s Mansions and Rhode Island’s best parties. Thousands of banquets, balls, galas, meetings and conferences throughout Southern New England have been handled by Blackstone’s experienced team.

John Edick, Owner and General Manager is no stranger to working women in business. Edick stated “Women, especially working women have always been a part of my life. Today, Blackstone is a successful business because of the women who work here. But long before that there were great women who helped me. My grandmother taught me to cook, my mother taught me to dance and my wife…she taught me everything else!”

Blackstone will be the caterer at both the Women in Business Luncheon which will be held on Tuesday, June 28th and the Women in Business After Hours which is held in October. The Chamber looks forward to this partnership and the events to be held together with the Preservation Society of Newport County.

The Newport County Chamber of Commerce is the second largest chamber in the state with over 1,100 members representing over 50,000 employees and is one of Rhode Island’s largest business advocacy organizations, formed to enhance the business, civic and economic vitality of Newport County and greater Rhode Island. We help businesses succeed.
