The Wasted Talent Show will feature the stand up comedy of Gordon Baker-Bone, Alan Fitzgerald, E.J. Edmonds, Robert Punchur, Alison Crawford, Derek Moore and hosted Doug Key. 4. 2016 Kentucky Derby Watch Party: Saturday at 6:34 p.m.
Expereince the thrill of the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” on May 7, 2016 at Midtown Oyster Bar or from 4pm to 7pm on the big screen at the Wharf Pub while enjoying a glass of two roads Conntucky Lightnin’.
5. Derby Party with Newport Storm Beer & Thomas Tew: Saturday from 6pm to 8pm
It’s time to strap on the stir-ups and your feather-topped hats because we’re hosting a Kentucky Derby Party! The Visitors Center will be open late so grab a growler and fill ‘er up or grab a bottle of Thomas Tew Single Barrel available for purchase. You can also learn how to make some Tew twists on classic derby cocktails like our favorite- Mint Tewlip!
It wouldn’t be a derby party without lawn games and a live stream of the race to hone in on your inner jockey. Would it even be a derby party without a “Best dressed” prize? The guy and gal decked out in derby downs will walk away with an awesome prize courtesy of Newport Storm. So whip out the pastel bow-ties, loafers and the bigger the hat the better! 6. Cyclofemme Mother’s Day Ride at Fort Adams State Park: Sunday at 9am
Join Bike Newport on Mother’s Day for a scenic 10 mile bike ride around Newport’s Ocean Loop! Cyclofemme is a Global Women’s Cycling Day created to honor women past and present and to share the love of biking with everyone along the way. The ride leaves promptly from the Visitors Center at Fort Adams at 9:00 am. Please plan to be there by 8:30 am for breakfast treats, temporary tattoos and pledges to get more women on bikes.
