With “half-a-dillion” of its goal of 1 million daffodils ready to burst forth, Daffodillion has announced its plans for the Third Annual Newport Daffodil Days Festival, one that promises to be bigger and daffier than ever.

Ladies, don your daffodil festooned bonnet and men, your daffy derby and join Daffodillion and the Newport Tree Society for its annual Spring Fling on April 21st from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Chanler on Cliff Walk.

There will be live music, complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a complimentary champagne “toast to the daffodils” and a cash bar. Prizes will be awarded to those wearing the most attractive hats.

Tickets are only $25 with your daffodil pin available at Bowen’s wharf and the Visitor’s Center
($35 w/o pin) and include ;

Proceeds support Daffodillion’s free bulb give-away in October and the planting of trees by the Newport Tree Society for Newport’s Pell Bridge Entryway.

Ryan Belmore is the Owner and Publisher of What'sUpNewp. Although not the founder or original owner, Belmore has been with What'sUpNewp since its early beginnings in 2012.

Belmore was born in Providence, Rhode Island; grew up and graduated high school in Coventry, Rhode Island; and lived in Newport, Rhode Island for more than ten years. He and his wife, Jen, as well as their two dogs (Aero and June), recently moved to Alexandria, Virginia. Belmore travels back and forth to Newport every couple of weeks to cover events, work on story ideas, to meet with What'sUpNewp's on-the-ground contributors, to visit friends, and to eat as much seafood as possible.
