Ballard Exploration Company, Inc. presents the 11th Annual Illuminated Garden on Thursday, February 18th; Friday, February 19th and Saturday, February 20th, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Ballard Park. The free event features thousands of lights displayed on the trees and unique features of Ballard Park’s three acre quarry meadow.
In addition to lights set up by professional tree climbers, there will be exhibits by students enrolled at Cluny School, Rogers High School and St. Michael’s Country Day School. Friends of Ballard Park ran three after school programs creating an oversized Lite Brite with students at the Newport Community School, milk jug sculptures at Newport COZ at Pell and packing tape sculptures at the Middletown COZ at Gaudet Middle School.
Event goers are advised to wear appropriate shoes or boots as the trail may be dark, muddy and uneven in places. Ballard Park is located at the intersection of Hazard & Wickham Roads in Newport, RI. The event may be accessed through the Hazard Road entrance. The event is sponsored by the RI State Senate. Event co-sponsors include Bartlett Tree Experts, the Law Offices of Joseph J.
