Since June of 2013, The Mintones have been bringing live reggae music to the Tavern On Broadway every Friday night.

Let us repeat that, EVERY single Friday night for the last 2 1/2 years if you went into Tavern On Broadway between the hours of 10 p.m. – 1 a.m. you’d catch The Mintones (and often times many other musician friends) rockin’ out.

That long stretch came to an end when The Mintones played their last gig at Tavern on Broadway on Friday, November 6th.

Mike Minto, Leader of The Mintones, shared the news on his Facebook Page on November 8th;

“Well, after 2 1/2 years of fantastic Friday nights, The Mintones will no longer be playing at The Tavern On Broadway. I would like to thank all of you guys that came so often and were so generous with expressing your appreciation toward our band. I’d also like to thank all of the various musicians who played regularly and filled in and kept this thing rolling. We all had a hell of a lot of fun, and look forward to much more. Thank you! Love, Mike”

Mike encouraged fans of The Mintones and Reggae music to follow the band on their Facebook Page for updates on upcoming gigs.

“The Mintones are not going to be playing every Friday night but we are continuing reggae music every Friday night with local and touring reggae acts. Reggae Friday Nights will continue at Tavern on Broadway with Natural Elements playing this coming Friday”, Jim Blumel, Owner of Tavern On Browady, told What’sUpNewp.
