Monday, November 23rd

  • Universal Trail Ribbon Cutting, November 23 at Norman Bird Sanctuary. Join Norman Bird Sanctuary to celebrate the completion of upgrades to the Universal Trail and the new trailhead entryway! The ADA-compliant Universal Trail offers an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to establish a connection to the natural world, and helps fulfill a core NBS mission priority to inspire diverse audiences to learn from, enjoy, and care about the environment.

Tuesday, November 24th

  • Mid-Muzzy Movember Party, November 24th at 7pm at The Wharf Pub.  Join the local Movember The Wharf Pub for passed appetizers, drink specials, and mustaches! The 11-member Newport Muzzy team will be showing off their facial follicles in celebration of the halfway mark.

Wednesday, November 25th

  • Brunch For Bobby, November 25th from 7am – 2:30pm. Stop by the Corner Cafe for brunch to support local Newporter Bobby Forster in his fight against ALS! All gratuities made by servers and a percentage of proceeds will be donated to Bobby to support medical bills and his cost of living. Breakfast served all day! The cafe is open 7:00 am to 2:30 pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.   • Badfish, November 25th at 7pm. Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime will return to Newport, RI for their annual show on Thanksgiving Eve, November 25th. Doors open at 7pm and at this time it has not been announced if there will be an opening act. Tickets are $17.50 in advance and available at www.newportblues.com. If tickets are still available, they will be available for purchase at the door on night of.

Thursday, November 26th

  • The Pie Run, Newport County YMCA. This annual event put on by the YMCA is a certified and generally flat course. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the race that will be donated to a local food bank. More Info

Friday, November 27th

  • Holidays By The Sea Opens, November 27th and runs through December 31st. Holidays By The Sea encourages folks to dine, shop, explore and stay local during the holiday season.  Visit www.NewportChamber.com/Holidays by the Sea.
  • Polar Express, The Polar Express Train Ride on the Newport & Narragansett Bay Railroad runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from November 20th through to Christmas. Trains depart each night at 4:30 and 6:30pm. On Saturday, December 5th, 12th, and 19th, trains depart at 4:30, 6:30, and 8:00pm. Each trip is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes long. All of our cars are heated and protected from the winter elements. www.newportpolarexpress.com

  • Newport Harbor Illuminated Boat Parade, The Newport Illuminated Boat Parade kicks off the holiday season with boats decorated with festive holiday decor and lights. The boats motor through the harbor and compete for best decorated in various categories. The parade begins at 6:15pm and can be viewed from various spots around the harbor. After the parade, the awards are presented at the Newport Yacht Club where light refreshments will be served.
  • Bowen’s Wharf Block Party, The waterfront at Bowen’s Wharf offers exceptional views of the City of Newport’s Illuminated Boat Parade starting at 6:15pm. The Bowen’s Wharf unique boutiques and restaurants will be offering free hot cider, in-store specials and good karma sales alongside live music while the flotilla motors past. All are invited to meander through the waterfront and local businesses from 5-8pm, rain or snow, just dress the part! More Info
  • The Wasted Talent Show! Stand Up Comedy!, 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Hope Underground. 3 years running, this is Newport’s hottest monthly stand up comedy show at Hope Underground featuring comedians from Comedy Central, Conan, MTV, VH1, and the best local new talent in New England!
