For those of you who are looking for a fun way to spend the day, start the weekend, or entertain your friends, family, or guests – visiting Newport Storm Brewery and Thomas Tew Distillery is the thing to do.

We give you five great reasons to visit and you’ll find out for yourself after visiting that there are many more! ~Cheers!

1. Experience A Proper Newport Storm

Beer tastings are a great opportunity to find out which of their beers to look for on your visit to Newport’s fine eateries or local liquor store! Newport Storm Beer tours and tastings are $7 plus tax ($7.49) and include: four Newport Storm Beer samples including our year-round beers and seasonal or experimental varieties, your souvenir tasting glass and either a self-guided or guided tour, depending on availability.

2. Discover & Taste Thomas Tew – The Rum Not The Pirate

Thomas Tew Single Barrel Rum is the signature spirit distilled atNewport Storm Brewery. Thomas Tew is the first spirit to be distilled in Rhode Island in more than 135 years!

Named after the famous Newport pirate, Thomas Tew Rum is an authentic aged pot still rum of the type that would have been made in Newport’s colonial rum heyday.

Thomas Tew Rum tasting allows you to taste ‘what barrel-aging does’ and understand what makes Thomas Tew Single Barrel Rum so special.

Rum tours and tastings are $9 plus tax ($9.63), and include: samples of three stages of their Thomas Tew Single Barrel rum (the raw spirit, the cask strength aged rum, and the finished product), your souvenir tasting glass and either a self-guided or guided tour, depending upon availability.

3. Hey Hotshot, You Can Host Your Own Party At The Brewery!

Ever wished you had your own brewery for a night? At Newport Storm Brewery, your wish can come true! Their Visitors Center is available to host your private event after hours. So far, birthdays, bachelorettes, naval promotions, corporate team-building nights and alumni ‘get togethers’ have all gone off there without a hitch! The costs associated with their function space are reasonable and the beer couldn’t be fresher! Host your next party at the Newport Storm Brewery!

4. Everyone Could Use Some Sweet Newport Storm  Gear

The Newport Storm Visitors Center has a great gift shop so you can pick up your vacation ‘must haves’. Glassware, apparel and Storm and Tew gear are available for purchase at the Visitors Center.

5. You Can Storm Your Friday With Beer

How many breweries can say that every week, you can come in, trade your ID for a pint glass, and drink unlimited amounts of craft beers for two full hours? Well, we know of only one on the island, so that means we don’t have to go far to get it, Newporters. How does it work, you ask? Step 1: Go onto the Newport Storm Facebook page right at noon on Friday, click on the Friday @ Six Sign Up link, and answer questions to get on the list. Step 2: Show up at 6:00 sharp at the brewery. Step 3: Enjoy the sweet nectar of the beer gods and make a few friends while you’re at it. Why not? It only comes around once a week.
