The Potter League for Animals will waive adoption fees for all available dogs and cats over six months old from Friday, Aug. 21, through Sunday, Aug. 23, as part of NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters campaign.
Fees for puppies and kittens under six months will be half off. The waived fees are covered by a sponsorship from Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
The Animal Care & Adoption Center at 87 Oliphant Lane will be open for adoptions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. No appointment is necessary, and the standard adoption process still applies.
“Clear The Shelters is such a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible animals in our care and encourage people who have been thinking about adoption to come meet them,” said Kara Montalbano, the Potter League’s director of marketing and community relations. “Our hope is that these three days bring lots of new faces through our doors and, most importantly, help many of our animals leave with families of their own.”
Every animal adopted from the Potter League comes with age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip and spay or neuter surgery. Adopters during the event also receive a Hill’s New Pet Parent Kit with a starter bag of food, a coupon and post-adoption resources.
Now in its 12th year, Clear The Shelters has helped more than 1.3 million pets find homes since 2015 and raised more than $5.6 million for participating shelters nationwide.
