Rogers High School’s Parent-Teacher Organization will host an amateur cornhole tournament at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at the Elks Lodge, at the corner of Bellevue Avenue and Pelham Street, with a rain date of May 3.

The tournament can accommodate 16 teams of two, with spots expected to fill quickly. The winning team will receive a custom cornhole set designed by students in the Newport Area Career and Technical Center’s construction technology program.

Registration is $40 per competitor, while spectator tickets are available for $25. All fees include one drink ticket and a cup of chowder. The event is open to guests 21 and older and will also feature a cash bar, raffles and the Newport Chowder Company food truck.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit field trips, scholarships for graduating seniors, teacher appreciation events and more.
