Undefeated Ponaganset defeated Tiverton 3-0 in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division III girls volleyball state championship Sunday at Rhode Island College.

The loss ended Tiverton’s season, but Tigers head coach Kerri Allder remained optimistic about the program’s future.

“We’ll be back next year in the finals,” Allder said after the match.

Several Tiverton players delivered strong individual performances in the championship.

Olivia Pereira led the Tigers with nine kills while adding three aces and a team-high 16 digs. Sayler Ouellette recorded 10 assists while contributing one ace, two kills and 12 digs.

Olivia Rodrigues added 13 digs, two kills and one assist. Adysson Amaral recorded one kill and three blocks.

Carlie Martin had one ace, one kill and 10 digs, while Chloe Jackson contributed seven digs.
