Tiverton High School’s softball team has secured a spot in the Division 3 state tournament semifinals after beating Pawtucket Co-Op 11-1 on Tuesday.
The Tigers took control of the game in the middle innings, scoring five runs across the third and fourth. They sealed the deal with a six-run fifth inning, ending the game early due to the 10-run rule.
Tiverton’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with every starter contributing at least one hit. Jersey-Ann Hastie led the charge with three hits, while Sarah Poland, Liliana Luis, and Kelsey Conway each added two.
The quarterfinal matchup took place at Tiverton High School, giving the Tigers a home-field advantage.
Looking ahead, Tiverton is set to host Narragansett in the semifinal game on Wednesday, May 28. The Tigers will once again enjoy home-field advantage as they aim to continue their tournament run.
