The Rhode Island Department of Health has just released its preliminary lists of the state’s most popular baby names for 2024.

Charlotte takes the crown for girls, while Liam holds onto the top spot for boys.

The top three names for girls are Charlotte, Mia, and Amelia. For boys, it’s Liam, Lucas, and Noah leading the way.

This shows a change from 2023, when Sophia and Olivia followed Charlotte for girls, and Noah and James came after Liam for boys.

The full top 10 list for girls rounds out with Emma, Olivia, Sophia, Ava, Violet, Maeve, and Isla.

For boys, the rest of the top 10 includes Theodore, Luca, Henry, Oliver, Michael, James, and Owen.

The Rhode Island Department of Health’s Center for Vital Records is set to finalize the 2024 birth data by the end of February.
