Pet owners, get ready! St. Mary’s Church is hosting its second yearly “Blessing of the Animals” on Oct. 13. The church is inviting everyone in the community to bring their furry, feathered, or scaly friends for a special blessing.

The outdoor ceremony kicks off at 12:30 p.m. in the church’s courtyard on William Street. This event celebrates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, known for his love of animals.

Keep an eye on the weather, though. If it’s raining, the event will be called off and will not be rescheduled. Want more details? Contact Morrison at Lisa@TheNewportGroupRI.com.
