The Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival is making waves across the country as it takes center stage on the Cooking Channel’s hit series “Carnival Eats” on Sunday, September 15 at 9 pm. Tune in to catch host Noah Cappe’s adventure through one of Rhode Island’s premier seafood celebrations in the heart of downtown Newport.
The Cooking Channel shared on its website, “Noah Cappe makes a trip to New England for a wicked cool visit to the Newport Oyster and Chowder Festival! Nothing says Rhode Island more than this seafood-stacked menu with decadent Lobster Pizza and creamy Crab Rangoons. Noah sees a scallop get shucked before indulging in the Scallop Roll, but he saves room for New England Nachos that dress up pita chips with legendary seafood chowder, lobster and oyster crackers.”
Known for its lively atmosphere and delicious fare, the festival offers a mouthwatering array of regional delicacies and caught the eye of Cappe and the crew at “Carnival Eats.” On the show, viewers will follow Cappe as he explores the festival’s vibrant flavors and showcases local culinary talent from Newport-based food purveyors like Katie Potter of Newport Chowder Company and Scott Kirmil of Wharf Fishhouse. The show will also feature other standout vendors from South County, Matunuck Oyster Bar and the Shuckin’ Truck. Filming for the episode took place at this year’s event held at Bowen’s Wharf on May 18 and 19.
The festival will be highlighted in Episode 11 of Season 11 titled “Crab Rangoonies” which will air again on Monday, September 16 at 1am and Thursday, September 19 at 8:30pm. In addition to the TV schedule, the season will be available to stream on Max in its entirety once it has finished airing.
