Anne Marie Schumann, principal cyber advisor of the Department of the Navy, visited the U.S. Naval War College to discuss research and education efforts focused on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

NWC President Rear Adm. Darryl Walker and DON PCA Ms. Anne Marie Schumann discussed NWC’s Cyber and Innovation Policy Institute (CIPI) and courses offered on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence during Schumann’s visit to the college’s Newport, RI campus on Aug. 29.

Walker briefed Schumann on the college’s research, analysis, and wargaming efforts by faculty from the Cyber and Innovation Policy Institute and Wargaming Department. The two leaders also discussed the Rochefort Group’s education and fleet engagement activities in the information warfare field.

The visit is part of the Navy’s efforts to strengthen the workforce supporting the warfighter and increase the readiness of U.S. warships.
