Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport is the second best airport in the country, according to a new survey by the Travel + Leisure company.

The domestic airport ranked 2nd out of 500 airports in the U.S., just 1/100th of a percent behind Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the top airport in the country.

“We are grateful to be honored by travelers who consistently rank our airport as among the best in the nation, and all those who have discovered that Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport is an easy and affordable gateway to New England,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “The Rhode Island Airport Corporation takes our commitment to excellence in customer service with the seriousness our patrons have come to expect, and we appreciate the support of all voters as we expand on our efforts to provide meaningful connections to the nation and the world.”

Travel + Leisure said PVD was easy to access from Massachusetts and Connecticut, and offered affordable parking, short security lines, and a wide range of destinations.

“The bathrooms are magnificent! This seems like a small thing, but when you travel a lot, large stalls with privacy doors and sinks with built-in faucet/ dryer combinations are such a gift,” said one Travel + Leisure voter. “And the live plants and fresh flowers by each sink really made me feel like someone cares about my well-being. Likely the best experience of my 30 years as a traveling consultant.”

“The Rhode Island Airport Corporation Board of Directors takes tremendous pride in continuing to win the admiration and support of the traveling public,” said Jonathan Savage, Chair of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation Board of Directors. “These continued national and international distinctions are only possible thanks to the statewide destination marketing made available through the cooperation of our Governor and General Assembly, and of course, the continued support of travelers through our airport.”

  1. If there was more options for coffee that did not include 50+ lines in the am I might give a big thumbs up to the rating. I have emailed the airport manager a few times asking for some more and different coffee options
