On Wednesday, October 19 at 6:00 PM, Lucy’s Hearth will host its annual fundraiser Fall For Lucy’s Hearth at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
Founded in 1984, Lucy’s Hearth is a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter in Middletown serving children and their families who are experiencing homelessness due to economic hardship, family crisis, divorce, eviction, or the severe shortage of safe, affordable housing.
Fall For Lucy’s Hearth will be an inspirational evening with stories of perseverance as shared by residents and will be hosted by Aida Neary, according to event organizers. The event will also honor housing heroes Newport Restaurant Group and Volunteer of the Year Will Dewey.
“Due to the lasting effects of COVID and the critical shortage of affordable housing, our funding needs are greater than ever before,” said Lucy’s Hearth Director Ashley Salemi Tarvis. “Please know that every dollar raised goes directly toward providing the programs and support necessary to help our children and families find permanent housing of their own.”
