Over 425 businesses in Newport County were impacted during the natural gas outage in January 2019. While many are back to business as usual, most are just now learning the true cost of this event.

The Newport County Chamber of Commerce is seeking business input to get a better understanding of the losses suffered due to this gas outage.  With this information, the Chamber will be able to better advocate for improvements to infrastructure and ensure smart growth and economic development for the region.

The Chamber has been working closely with the Governor’s Office, the Small Business Administration, and Commerce RI since the natural gas outage. While some initial information was collected immediately after the event, the Chamber is asking the business community to share their experiences, including any losses suffered as a result of the outage. Please visit:https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/gas-outage-loss-questionnaire to take a new survey.
