Having groceries delivered to your front door? There’s an app for that.

As reported by WPRI 12, Instacart, a San Francisco-based grocery-delivery service, has announced it will expand its service in Rhode Island to now cover Middletown, Portsmouth, Newport, and Jamestown beginning on April 19th.

Instacart allows customers to order items via its website or their smartphone app from a wide variety of stores and promises same-day delivery. In some cases, Instacart promises deliveries in as “little as one hour”.

Instacart, which first launched in Boston and Chicago in 2013, first arrived in Rhode Island in 2017 and is already available in the following Rhode Island communities;
