Team USA faces Switzerland at 4 p.m. Saturday at BD Field at Glen Farm, the last international match of Newport Polo’s 150th anniversary season.

The Swiss roster includes Cedric Schweri, a two-time Gstaad winner and two-time Italian champion; Thomas Wolfensberger, a three-time Swiss champion; Philipp Müller, a former Swiss national skeleton athlete; and Janik Noah Oertli, who won the 2025 Swiss Medium Goal Championship and is making his first trip to the United States. It’s Switzerland’s first appearance in Newport since 2021.

Gates open at noon, with vendors and exhibitions from 1 p.m. and the trophy presentation around 6, followed by player autographs.

The sideline theme for the Stella Artois Best in Show competition is an Alpine picnic — cheeses, charcuterie, knits and fall tailoring. Newport Kites will fly show kites over the grounds before the match, weather permitting, including a giant horse. Surfside is sampling cocktails, with two Alpine-themed drinks on the bar menu.

Forty 1° North is hosting the Swiss team as official lodging partner.

Saturday is the second-to-last match of the season. The Turkish Airlines Finals follow on Sept. 26.
