Newport Polo hosts England on Saturday, Sept. 5, at BD Field at Glen Farm, reviving the matchup that launched the Newport International Polo Series in 1992.

The six-chukker match starts at 4 p.m. with gates opening at noon. It falls in the club’s 150th anniversary year and the series’ 35th season. Both squads are fielding professional players.

The sideline theme for Saturday’s Stella Artois Best in Show competition is “Bridgerton Bouquets,” an English garden party dress-up with prizes for the best floral turnout and picnic tables. Aston Martin Boston and Lotus Boston will display British performance cars along the field, including the Aston Martin DBX and the Lotus Emira 420 Sport.

At halftime spectators are invited onto the field for the divot stomp, the polo tradition of treading the turf back into place after the opening chukkers. The Penelope Bourbon Bungalow will be on the sidelines, and the afternoon closes with the champagne trophy presentation and player autographs.

The Brenton Hotel is hosting the English side as official lodging partner, and Highclere Castle Gin is sponsor of the day.

Tickets and details are at nptpolo.com.
