The Newport International Boat Show announced today the debut of its Fishing Village presented by Tashmoo Boatworks, an immersive experience created for anglers and fishing enthusiasts of all ages and levels as part of the 2026 showgoer experience September 17–20 along the historic downtown Newport waterfront.

The Newport International Boat Show is adding a fishing village to this year’s show, a dedicated section for anglers with exhibits, seminars and a casting pond, running all four days from Sept. 17 to 20 on the downtown waterfront.

Access is included with general admission. The village sits on the south side of the show near Tent-G and the Windward VIP Lounge, and is presented by Tashmoo Boatworks, the Martha’s Vineyard builder whose boats first appeared at the Newport show in the 1980s. The company is using the show to unveil the latest version of its 18-foot model.

A Fishing Education Center presented by The Saltwater Edge will run free seminars through the weekend on using side-scan sonar to find bass on structure, tackle and tactics for false albacore, bluefin tuna and bottom fishing, and fly fishing. Capt. Mike Hogan is among those leading sessions.

A 50-foot casting pond will host fly casting clinics and demos with Garmin and Minn Kota. Sunday programming turns toward families, with “Take a Kid Fishing” sessions at the pond and a black sea bass seminar aimed at families.

Exhibitors signed on so far include Dragonfly Boatworks, The Qualified Captain, Tufftide Marine, Swiftloc, M32, Dinnteco Atlantic Marine Electronics, The Saltwater Edge, Zack’s Custom Rods, Shimano, Simms and East Coast Spreader Bars.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, across more than 17 acres of wharves and marinas. The show reported $22.5 million in local economic impact in 2025.
