Richard W. Allphin, 92, formerly of Jamestown, Rhode Island, passed on July 30, 2026 with family by his side. Richard was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Kusic Allphin of Jamestown.
Richard was born in Andover, Ma. to Willard and Catherine Washburn Allphin. Richard and his older brother, Kendall, were fortunate to spend their childhood and adult summers on Bakers Island, Ma., a summer community which Richard loved dearly.
After graduating from Boston University, Dick was recruited by IBM, New York. His career was a long and rewarding part of his life. Upon retirement, Dick could be found on his lobster boat, Nancy B, cruising Narragansett Bay or making his yearly trek to Bakers Island.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, his brother, and his son, Richard “Dickie” Allphin, his daughter, Sarah “Sally” Allphin and their mother, Martha N. Allphin.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Sondra Allphin of California, (Ernie Boyer) and Nancy Allphin of Massachusetts.
A private gathering will be held on Bakers Island in the early Fall.
