The Women’s Resource Center will hold its signature summer fundraiser, Seaside Celebration, on Monday, July 20, at 5:30 p.m. at The Bohlin, 20 Commercial Wharf, on Newport Harbor.

The event is co-hosted by Elizabeth Leatherman and Susan Sipprelle — the same Susan Sipprelle who recently wrote about RENEWport’s volunteer library program at Pell Elementary — and will feature passed hors d’oeuvres, food, drinks, live music, and waterfront views on a tented dockside terrace. Proceeds benefit the Women’s Resource Center’s programs for survivors of domestic violence, including crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, prevention education, and emergency shelter.

“Seaside Celebration is more than a summer gathering — it is an opportunity for our community to come together in support of survivors and to invest in lasting change,” Sipprelle said.

Founded in 1977, the Women’s Resource Center serves Newport and Bristol Counties with free and confidential services including a 24-hour hotline, court and law enforcement advocacy, pet-inclusive emergency shelter and transitional housing, mental health counseling, support groups, and LGBTQ+ and bilingual advocacy.

Tickets and more information are available at wrcnbc.org. Those experiencing domestic violence can reach the center’s hotline at 401-846-5263.
