Namon K. Choice

Namon K. Choice, left us peacefully on July 11, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on July 2, 1959, in Newport, RI, Namon spent his life making countless friends and forging connections through his passion for cooking. He was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the delicious meals he shared with family and friends. Namon worked for many years in well known local restaurants, most recently at Yesterday’s and for several years at the Pier Restaurant. While Namon was an avid sports fan, it was music that moved his soul. He enjoyed all styles of music and had an extensive collection of records and CDs spanning decades and genres.

Namon is survived by his loving brothers Thomas of Middletown, his twin brother Norman of Newport, and Earl Smith of Taunton MA, as well as his sister, Estelle “Debbie” Maxwell of Jacksonville, FL. Together, they cherished many beautiful moments, and Namon’s presence will be deeply missed. Namon was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Choice, sister Diane Choice, and his parents Namon and Jacqueline Choice.

A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway Newport RI 02840, on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00. Burial services will follow, and a Celebration of Life will follow at the Clubhouse at 21 Bayridge Drive, Middletown.

Join us as we gather to celebrate Namon’s life and the many memories he created with all of us. Let’s honor his memory with stories, laughter, and love as we reflect on the joy he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Namon. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
