The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County will hold its annual Raise Up the Arts event Wednesday, June 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Easton’s Pavilion, upstairs at the Wyndham Newport Hotel, 240 Aquidneck Ave.
The evening features live music, small bites and the presentation of four awards. The Newport String Project will receive the 2026 Artist Award, and the Dominique Award will recognize Rosalind Weir. The Tinney Family Arts Scholarship will go to Sedra Smith, a Tiverton resident and MET School graduate. The recipient of the LeRoy White “Soul & Conscience” Award will be announced at the event.
A silent auction will help fund the alliance’s awards. Prizes include tickets to the Newport String Project, the Audrain Car Museum, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the JAC Manhattan Short Film Festival and the Newport Mansions Wine Fest Jazz Brunch, along with a Preservation Society membership, a private tour of Belcourt Castle, and an overnight stay at the Wyndham with breakfast for two.
The event is open to all. Tickets are $40 and available at newportarts.org, where questions can also be directed. Founded in 1994, the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County is a nonprofit that promotes and supports arts and culture across the county through events, networking and support for artist members.
