The Rhode Island Department of Health is recommending that the swimming area at Easton’s Beach be closed because of high bacteria counts in the water.
The department will continue to monitor and review water quality at beaches across the state through Labor Day, and a beach’s status can change as new data comes in.
The most current beach information is available through a recorded message on RIDOH’s beaches telephone line and at health.ri.gov/beaches, which also lists any closed beaches.
