John JB “J.J.” Silvia III, a Portsmouth resident and Chief Operating Officer and Sales Manager at Portsmouth-based International Manufacturing Services, Inc., has been appointed as a new BankNewport Corporator. The appointment was announced during OceanPoint Financial Partners’ annual meeting.

Portsmouth resident John JB “J.J.” Silvia III has been appointed as a new BankNewport corporator, OceanPoint Financial Partners announced.

The appointment was made at OceanPoint Financial Partners’ annual meeting on April 20.

Corporators serve as community ambassadors for the mutual community bank, helping represent the communities BankNewport serves.

Silvia is chief operating officer and sales manager at International Manufacturing Services Inc., a Portsmouth-based manufacturer of electronic component solutions. He has held several leadership roles with the company, including vice president, general manager and vice president of operations. His background spans operations, sales, manufacturing and business leadership in the advanced electronics sector.

OceanPoint Financial Partners, headquartered in Newport, is the mutual holding company of BankNewport, which serves families and businesses through 19 branch locations, a community lending center in Central Falls and a commercial lending office in Providence. OceanPoint Funding, a subsidiary of the company, specializes in brokering marine and recreational loans.
