Charter Books to host bestselling author Annabel Monaghan for a special summer author event at OceanCliff to celebrate Dolly All the Time (Charter Books)

Charter Books will host New York Times bestselling author Annabel Monaghan for a summer cocktail event at OceanCliff on Monday, June 8, to celebrate her latest novel, “Dolly All the Time.”

The event runs from 4 to 6 p.m., with Monaghan, author of “Nora Goes Off Script,” in conversation with Kylie McCollough, founder of the Newport Ladies Book Club.

“Dolly All the Time” takes place in Whitfield, Rhode Island, a fictional town inspired by Newport, where a hardworking single mom returns to her seaside hometown during summer break to help her father and stumbles into a fake-dating arrangement with wealthy, workaholic scion Stewart Whitfield. The book follows Dolly Brick as she tries to save her family home while navigating an arrangement that becomes more than either party bargained for.

The novel will be published May 28, days before the event, giving fans an opportunity to discuss the book, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Tickets are $75 and include admission to the reception, a signed copy of the book, a complimentary drink and hors d’oeuvres. OceanCliff’s cash bar will be open during the event, and the Safari Room restaurant is available for dinner afterward. Tickets are available at charterbookstore.com/events.

Monaghan is the New York Times bestselling and Library Reads Hall of Fame author of “It’s a Love Story,” “Summer Romance,” “Same Time Next Summer” and “Nora Goes Off Script,” as well as two young adult novels. Her novels have been translated into 23 languages, and she now splits her time between Connecticut and Florida.

McCollough is the founder of the Newport Ladies Book Club, known for curating immersive book discussions that often echo the spirit of each book through their venues and themes. The club has been featured on the Today Show with Read with Jenna, and McCollough has connected readers with bestselling authors including Elin Hilderbrand, Jeanine Cummins and Alison Espach. She is also a luxury realtor in Newport and a former star of Bravo’s “Real Estate Wars.”
